The Christmas Bouquet (Chesapeake Shores) Book Review

I really wanted to like this book but I couldn't do it. The main character is just whiny and I don't know what the redeeming characteristics are supposed to be. I didn't feel as there were any romance development at all. The entire book is just the same conversation over and over again. Does getting married mean giving up your dreams or can you compromise? Normally this could be an interesting question, but the problem in this book as that there is no real examination of the issue. The main character just continues to complain that she is afraid of giving up her dream. Okay, I got that in the first 10 pages. But there are no conversations where she even tries to work out the issue. You kind of have to take it on faith that there is a good reason why they love each other, because they keep saying it but they (particularly the heroine) don't really show it in any meaningful way.
